Placement Centre

The Placement Centre is the first part of the Bright Islands Complete Comprehension program. It is used to assess the students' reading comprehension and then place them into the correct IDENTIFY & INSTRUCT level.

Please note: Bright Islands is based on reading comprehension, not year level. Students in the same year level may have different levels of comprehension. Therefore, students that are in the same class can be placed in different IDENTIFY & INSTRUCT levels. The Placement Centre evaluation ensures the student is on the correct reading level for their ability.

Classroom teachers will be able to change their recommended placement levels if required. Learn more

1. Students access the Placement Centre.
2. The student will be assigned to their individual placement level based on their year of birth and any data from their previous reading level(s).
3. Click Start Test.
